Odisha horror is intensifying as the state records 3rd gang rape case in just a week. The disturbing sexual assaults took place in several parts of Odisha with the recent one in the Mayurbhanj district. A 31-year-old woman was allegedly raped by 4 men while she was alone at home, police said on Thursday.
31-Year-Old Woman Gangraped By 4 Men In Odisha
According to a complaint filed by the victim's husband, the 4 accused entered the house when he and other family members were away. According to him, the accused were known to the family. The incident happened in a village under the jurisdiction of Baripada Sadar police station on Monday night. The men entered the house and forcibly took the woman to a place in the jurisdiction of another police station and took turns in raping her. Reportedly, the woman was also threatened to kill if she told anyone about the incident. She was later admitted to a government hospital where she is undergoing treatment and her condition is slated to be stable now.
Aditya Prasad Jena, the inspector-in-charge at Baripada Sadar police station said that the four men have been named by the woman and they are currently fleeing. "A team has been formed to search the accused people," Jena said.

3 Cases Of Gangrape Reported In Odisha In One Week
This incident came to light after a series of gang rape cases in other districts of the state this week. A college student, on Sunday, was allegedly raped by 10 men, including 4 minors at Gopalpur beach in Ganjam district while celebrating the Raja festival with a friend. The police have arrested the accused, out of which, 6 adults have been identified as the key perpetrators. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has urged the Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) for a swift investigation.

On Tuesday, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered. Her body was found hanging from a tree in Keonghar district. The minor went missing on Monday night. Police have detained two people in connection with the case, said Laxmikant Pradhan, the inspector-in-charge of Pandapada police station.
