  • Finance Minister Piyush Goyal said that women have benefitted the most from the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. Businesses across the country have received Rs 15 crore out of which 73% has been received by women entrepreneurs till now.
  • The Modi government at the centre, in its last budget of the term, announced the provision free LPG connection for 8 crore women below the poverty line as part of its Ujjwala Yojana out of which 6 crore have already been provided to change the lives of rural women in the country for the better.
  • Supporting women further, the Modi government announced maternity leave of 26 weeks as part of its Pradhan Mantri Maatri Yojana as part of the 2019 Budget.
  • The government aims to provide every home with toilet to ensure the dignity of sisters and mothers, Piyush Goyal said.
  • Increased credit limit for women self-help groups

Support To Farmers

  • Government approved direct income support of Rs 6,000 per year for small and marginal farmers with land of up to 2 hectares.
  • MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) allocation increased to Rs 60,000 crore.
  • Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan pension scheme launched to provide assured monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for workers in unorganised sector after 60 years of age. Contribution for the same to be 100 rupees per month,
  • Jan Dhan Aadhar Mobile Scheme announced. Government to make one lakh digital villages in five years.

Ease In Taxation

  • Individual taxpayers having annual income upto five lakhs to get full tax rebate. Individuals with gross income up to 6.5 lakh rupees will not need to pay any tax if they make investments in provident funds and prescribed equities.
  • Rs 10,000-Rs 40,000 is the limit of exemption on interest tax on deposits.
  • Interest on fixed deposits upto Rs 40,000 will not require TDS.

Housing Gifts

  • One more year extension for housing project for affordable housing.
  • TDS deduction on rent hiked to Rs 2,40,000.
