A partial lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon and casts its shadow over the Moon. Tulsi or Holy Basil is a sacred plant according to Hindu belief. Also known as Tulasi, people regard it as an earthly manifestation of the goddess Tulsi, who was a great worshipper of the Lord Vishnu. Tulsi plays an important role in our lives, and can protect you from eclipse's harmful energy.

  • People avoid cooking, eating, and drinking lunar eclipses. They believe food spoils faster in the absence of the sun’s light and may cause digestive related problems. But placing some tulsi leaves in food container will protect your food from getting contaminated.
  • Start your food by eating Tulsi leaves first, as it will protect you from diseases. But make sure that you don't chew it; instead gulp it down with water. It is because Tulsi contains Mercury which can damage your teeth and gums.
