Radhika Pandey passed away on Saturday at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi following an emergency liver transplant surgery.
She was an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) and a macroeconomist with over two decades of experience in public policy and teaching. Before joining NIPFP, she had worked as a lecturer at the National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur.

Born on December 18, 1978, Radhika earned her Bachelor's degree in Economics from Banaras Hindu University and went on to complete her MA and PhD in Economics at Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. Her academic journey laid a strong foundation for her subsequent contributions to economics and public policy.
Radhika Pandey's Career And Research Contributions
Radhika Pandey began her professional journey as a lecturer at the National Law Institute University in Jodhpur. In 2008, she joined the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) in New Delhi, rising to the rank of Associate Professor. Her research spanned key areas such as: Business Cycles, Capital Controls, Financial Sector Regulation, and more.
She held pivotal roles on various task forces, including the Public Debt Management Agency (Ministry of Finance), and participated in commissions like the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms and Foreign Investment Working Group.

According to the IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, “Radhika Pandey was co-coordinator for the Ministry of Finance Task-Force on Public Debt Management, and was also part of the research team for the Working Group on Foreign Investments. Currently, Dr. Pandey is part of the technical research secretariat for the Department of Economic Affairs-NIPFP research program.”
