This Is How Shahid Kapoor Reacted On Ishaan Khatter's Birth

Neelima Azim and Pankaj Kapoor got married in 1979 but they later parted ways and got divorced in 1984. In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, Neelima opened up about her divorce and admitted that she was a young girl when she got married. She also revealed how difficult it was for her but she didn't think of it as suffering or struggle. “I would like to say that I didn’t decide to separate. It’s a fact. He moved on and it was a difficult thing for me to stomach but he also had his reasons. We had been friends for a long time. I think I was 15 years old when I became friends with him. He had very good reasons and I understood it, ” she said.

She even added “When there’s a break-up, which is called divorce, it is painful for both. There was a lot of friendship and attachment but there was heartbreak. It’s alright. He’s very well settled with his family today and I wish him well."

Pankaj Kapur later got married to Supriya Pathak and has has two children - Sanah Kapur, Ruhaan Kapur.

Neelima further said that she bounced back from this trauma with the help of her closed ones. However, it was Shahid Kapoor who was her biggest pillar of strength. “He gave me an insurmountable belief in life. I was young so I was able to do it again. It took time though, it took me about a couple of years, but then I was fine, " she shared.

Azim further went on revealing some secrets about Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Well, it was Shahid who had pestered Neelima to have a child again and especially a brother. She said, "It was Shahid who wanted me to have a child again. I was happily working and the thought of having a baby again never crossed my mind. But Shahid specifically wanted a brother. I have my own brother so I knew what he meant. You can get married and have partners but your brother is the only one with your DNA after your parents aren't there with you. So I remember I wanted a girl and I couldn't have promised Shahid a brother. But my doctor, after Ishaan was born, didn't congratulate us first. She congratulated Shahid."

And as soon as he heard this, Shahid started dancing. "After Ishaan was born, Shahid came to Yari Road where we used to stay, and went to the next gully where he played with his friends and did a full mad dance. He was so happy, " Neelima added.
