Overview of Mumbai Metro Line 3

The newly launched Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Line 3 spans 12.5 kilometres, running between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey JVLR. This ₹14,120 crore project connects both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the Mumbai airport and links to the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova Metro Line 1 at Marol Naka station. Also referred to as the ‘Aqua Line’, this phase aims to ease travel between the city’s urban and suburban areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the line last week, took to social media platform X to share "memorable moments from the Mumbai Metro," describing his journey from BKC to Santacruz as a highlight. The PM's interaction with students, women beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin scheme, workers, and commuters underscored the line's significance to diverse sections of society.
