Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has created history for more than one reason. In the recently concluded general elections, BJP became the single largest party to come to power with a thumping majority with 303 votes. What is more exciting about the 17th Lok Sabha elections is that the Parliament will see young faces who will represent their constituency in the 543-seat house. At least, five young lawmakers in their 20s and early 30s will make their debut in the Parliament of which four are women.

Chandrani Murmu has created history by becoming the youngest Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha. Murmu, a tribal woman, who contested on Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ticket, has won the Lok Sabha seat from Keonjhar in Odisha. She defeated two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak by a margin of over 66,000 votes to pave her way to the Lok Sabha at the age of 25 years.

Murmu, a B.Tech graduate from Bhubaneswar, was looking out for job after obtaining her graduation before being fielded as a candidate by Naveen Patnaik-led BJD.

Tejasvi Surya

Tejasvi Surya won from prestigious Bengaluru South Lok Sabha seat. 28-year-old Tejasvi Surya was Karnataka Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha's general secretary when he got the ticket by BJP to contest from Bengaluru South. He defeated Congress' B K Hariprasad to pave his way to Lok Sabha

Surya gained national recognition during the 2018 Karnataka Assembly election where he was leading the Digital Communications Team of Karnataka BJP.

Nusrat Jahan

Bengali film industry actress turned Trinamool Congress MP, Nusrat Jahan becomes another young face to make her debut in Lok Sabha. 29-year-old Nusrat won from Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of 3.5 lakh votes. After winning in her debut contest, Nusrat recently visited the parliament and posted a picture of herself from there.

Bengali film industry actress turned Trinamool Congress MP, Mimi Chakraborty makes to the list of young lawmakers in the 17 Lok Sabha by winning from Jadavpur constituency with a margin of nearly 3 lakh votes. After her victory in her debut general election, 30-year-old Mimi recently visited the Parliament along with Nusrat Jahan and posted a picture of herself from there as well.
