Shivling or Shiv Linga is a symbolic representation of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. It is a symbol of the formless, infinite nature of Shiva, the highly revered deity. It is found in almost every Indian home, used to offer prayers to the god. The Shiv Linga is depicted as an oval or cylindrical stone or pillar, often placed on a yoni base, which symbolises the feminine energy of Shakti. People often buy a Shiva lingam to keep in their home’s temple, but preparing one by yourself can be an enthralling and spiritually blissful experience that one must try. Using mud is a traditional way of making shivlings at home. With Sawan going on, making Shivling with your hands is something you must try. Below is a complete guide to make one yourself.
