Undoubtedly the most important presence in all our lives is that of our Mother. The love, the care, the nurturing, the warmth is unmatchable. Perhaps, this is the reason why Mother's Day holds a special place in each of our hearts. While the crisis world over has dampened our lives, it sure can't dampen our spirits. Today we celebrate this day with some of the most profound messages, poems, and quotes that will reflect the mood with which you wish to let your creature know how blessed this world seems to be with her vibrant presence. And even though we agree that no amount of love can match with that of what our mothers shower us with, here's a small way to show our gratitude to the one who truly matters the most.

1. Super Mom
Mom, you're a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you show you care
Always make me feel I belong.
You're patient when I'm foolish;
You give guidance when I ask;
It seems you can do most anything;
You're the master of every task.
You're a dependable source of comfort;
You're my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.
I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You'd be the one I'd select!

2. Mystery Mom
Mom, your love is a mystery:
How can you do it all?
You’re always there with the perfect fix
For my problems, big and small.
Your love protects me day after day,
So I’m fearless, safe and sound.
I feel that I can do anything
Whenever you’re around.
Mom, your love is a mystery,
I haven’t got a clue
Why you love me all time,
But I’m very glad you do!

3. Mommy, I love you
Mommy, I Love You
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you and hug you
‘Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ‘cause I love you
On this Mother’s Day.
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather,
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.
The water of her womb, your first home
The body she pulled apart to welcome you to the world.
The spirit in you she helped grow with all she knew.
The heart that she gave you when yours fell apart.
You are her soft miracle.
So she gave you her eyes to see the best in the worst.
You carry your mother in your eyes.
Make her proud of all she watches you do.
—Nikita Gill, “Mother” from Your Soul Is A River
