Movies and TV shows are usually structured perfectly for the protagonists giving them the iconic ending they’ve been signed up for. But many times there are supporting characters who steal the show. Their role might be minor but they surely leave a lasting impact. For example, Harry Potter might be on the book covers and movie posters but in the end Severus Snape was the ‘Chosen One’ for the viewers who will always reside in their hearts.
Supporting Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Offs
Talking about stealing the show, here are some supporting characters from Hollywood movies who deserve a chance to have their own spin-offs:
Severus Snape — 'Harry Potter'
Alan Rickman's portrayal of Severus Snape is iconic and unmatched. He perfectly captured the character's coldness, complexity, and sometimes evil demeanor. In the early parts of the franchise, he was portrayed as the villainous character but as the Harry Potter series revealed in the end, Snape's true story was much deeper, making him a tragic hero. A spinoff film would do justice to his character.
Janis Ian — 'Mean Girls'
What if we explored Regina and Janis' friendship in middle school, before they became the iconic characters we know? We could explore how Regina's mean girl persona developed and how Janis found her own unique style after being hurt by Regina's actions. Or, we could follow Janis after high school, watching her navigate the world as a creative and confident adult. Either of the scenarios would give birth to an impeccable storyline that viewers would enjoy.

Happy Hogan — 'Iron Man'
Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favreau, is more than just Tony Stark's chauffeur and bodyguard - he's also his loyal friend. Unlike most non-superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Happy has a unique role, often helping out in crucial moments. He's saved Pepper Potts multiple times and even looked after Peter Parker when Tony asked him to. Happy has been part of the MCU since the first Iron Man movie and has appeared in several films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Endgame. Given his close relationship with Tony, Happy might know some valuable secrets about the billionaire inventor. Interestingly, Happy outlived Tony Stark and became a significant character after his death, especially in Spider-Man: Far From Home, where he helped Peter Parker.

Minerva McGonagall — 'Harry Potter'
We often get caught up in Harry's story and forget about the people who were there from the start. Professor McGonagall's role might seem small, but her backstory is remarkable! She was a talented student, just like Harry, and played an important role in fighting against Voldemort. A spin-off of her character can dive deep into McGonagall's experience at Hogwarts, challenges, victories, and more.
