Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor who has portrayed Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for over 15 years, recently released an emotional video that has left fans speculating about his future with Marvel Studios.
Titled ‘Thank You! The Legacy of Thor’, the video was shared on Hemsworth’s YouTube channel and included a heartfelt message to fans. In it, Hemsworth thanked viewers for their support over the years and reflected on his journey as the God of Thunder.
“Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honours of my life,” he said. “For the last 15 years, I’ve held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable. Next up, Doomsday!”

Hemsworth’s video and caption immediately sparked a wave of emotional responses from fans, many of whom interpreted it as a farewell.

While Hemsworth has not officially confirmed whether he will retire from the role after Doomsday, the tone of his message suggests a reflective goodbye. Still, fans are holding out hope that the beloved actor will return for future Marvel projects.
