Ritika Jayaswal, the Founder and CEO of Nourish Mantra is transforming the beauty and wellness industry with their unique products that are made with traditional Indian ingredients. Recently, she bagged the ‘Beauty Entrepreneur Of The Year’ at the HZ Womenpreneur Awards 2024 for her innovative brand.
She started the company in 2019 after a hectic life in New York followed by her graduation from Parsons School of Design in New York. When her health and well-being were highly neglected, she got in touch with her roots by following Vipassana, an ancient form of meditation. This directed her towards the idea of how inner peace leads to outward beauty. Through Nourish Mantra, she is promoting vegan and cruelty-free products that are infused with traditional Indian formulae to provide natural and harmless beauty.
In an interview with her, we gained some interesting insights into her motivation, purpose, and driving force. Have a look at what makes her a great entrepreneur.
What Sparked Her Interest In This Field
“Recognizing a growing trend of Western countries embracing Eastern practices for wellness, I saw a white space in the US market,” mentioned Ritika. She also talked about her hands-on experience in the beauty industry that she could utilise to build her brand.
How She Conquered Her Fears And Succeeded
She mentioned how she has grown up in a business family which “fuelled her desire for entrepreneurship.” When we asked how she conquered her fears, she wisely responded, “Every day is still a challenge, but the idea is to learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.”
Her Advice To Women Entrepreneurs
Her advice to women who want to build a business (Must-Know Tips Before Starting A Business In India) is that firstly, “identify your asset – it could be your unique skill, your network, proximity to a market, etc.,” secondly, “utilise mentors and consultants,” to seek the right advice, encouragement, and guidance.
Her Motivation Mantra
She believes in celebrating the small achievements while chasing the bigger ones. This is what has kept her motivated throughout her journey.

How She Pulls Through Tough Days

Gender Bias She Faced
She gratefully mentioned how she scarcely faced gender bias since her field is majorly women-centric. However, she acknowledges how womenpreneurs have difficulty seeking funding and thriving amid familial responsibilities which has inbred her to support other women as well.
