Mira Rajput Kapoor is an Ayurveda junkie and if you follow her religiously on her social media, you know she loves leading an Ayurveda lifestyle. She keeps experimenting with different Ayurvedic ingredients, therapies and keeps sharing her experience with her followers as well. 

This time, she tried an Ayurvedic hack for her migraine and shared how it went like on her Instagram post. 

Migraine is a headache which causes severe throbbing pain. It is usually accompanied by vomiting and nausea. Too much light, emotional stress, caffeine, daily use of pain relief medicines, hormonal changes are some common things which can trigger migraine. 

For Mira Kapoor, it was training under too much light during mid-day. Mira Kapoor on her post shared that she had a migraine a few days ago when she was training mid-day. She shared that she noticed that whenever she trains in the peak sun regardless of the season, she is down with an annoying headache which sets in a few minutes after she has stepped out of the shower. 

She has been keeping herself hydrated and having stable sugar levels, yet the migraine ruins her days. 

Pitta Aggravation

Mira Kapoor further shared that it might be the Pitta-aggravation that is to blame because mid-day, is the Pitta time of the day and it probably aggravates the Pitta dosha in her body.

According to Ayurveda, our body has three doshas and among them, it is the Pitta which controls the heat, metabolism, transformation in our mind and body. Pitta also controls how our body digests foods, understands the difference between right and wrong. It is the dosha which controls the Agni or fire in the body.

Some common signs of Pitta imabalnce in our body are  - 

  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea 
  • Short temper
  • Migraine 
  • Hot flashes
  • Excessive hate, jealousy
  • Inflammation
  • Rashes
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Sour, acidic taste in the mouth

There are different reasons which can lead to Pitta imbalance in the body. Some common ones are - 

  • Physical stress
  • Exposure to the sun
  • Consuming preservatives
  • Eating a Pitta opposing diet
  • Exposure to chemicals

For instance, in Mira Rajput Kapoor's case, it was the exposure to excessive sunlight which lead to the imabalance in her Pitta.

Mira Kapoor's Chana Sek Hack

Mira Kapoor on her Instagram post shared that she has figured out a hack for her migraine

How To Make Chana Sek?

She shared that one requires Kaala Channa or black chickpeas. Toast kaala channa on a tava and then wrap in a cloth napkin. Place the cloth napkin on the eyes and it gives enormous relief, she wrote on her post.

She further shared that black chickpeas easily fall into the crevices of the eye region like those tiny marbles in eye pillows. These black chickpeas can be reused and re-toasted several times. 

Mira Kapoor shared that she isn't sure if it’s the gentle pressure on the eyes, or the warmth (strange because Pitta aggravation seeks cooling) or some funny kind of placebo effect she has fallen prey to but this hack works for her everytime. 

On her post, Mira Kapoor further asked her followers to share their insight on the hack, if they have tried it and if they know why does it really work.
