Monsoons in India are a beautiful paradox, equal parts romantic and rebellious. They bring the earthy scent of wet soil and chai cravings, but also wardrobe woes: clingy fabrics, unpredictable puddles, and humidity that plays havoc with everything from your hairstyle to your hemlines. Amidst this seasonal drama, Cantabil Kurtis caught my eye. Known for their smart-casual appeal and budget-friendly pricing, I decided to put them to the test. Can they survive, and even thrive, in a monsoon wardrobe? Let’s find out.
I tested two of their statement pieces: the Women’s Casual Navy Blue Printed & Embroidered Palazzo Set and the Women’s Casual Blueprint Printed Palazzo Set, both priced at ₹3,999. Here’s my take after trying them on during rain-drenched commutes and clammy afternoons.
Cantabil Kurtis:Fabric FeelAnd Practicality
Both sets are crafted from cotton, making them instantly monsoon-appropriate. The fabric feels soft against the skin, dries relatively quickly after a mild soak in the rain, and remains breathable through the humid chaos of July.
However, there’s a difference in the weight and weave. The Navy Blue Printed & Embroidered Set feels slightly denser due to the embroidery detailing, which adds a touch of structure. In contrast, the Blueprint Printed Set is noticeably airier, with a smoother drape, perfect for days when the humidity feels relentless.
Cantabil Kurtis:Design And Detailing
The Navy Blue Set leans into a more ornate look. The round neck kurta is adorned with tasteful embroidery, elevating it from casual daywear to something suitable for informal gatherings or festive office days. The print is subtle yet detailed, striking a balance between traditional and contemporary.
The Blueprint Set, featuring aclean band collar, exudes effortless minimalism. The geometric patternfeels fresh and versatile, making it an easy choice for daily wear or travel. It’s a no-fuss piece that speaks to the less-is-more aesthetic without compromising on visual appeal.

Cantabil Kurtis:Fit, Comfort, And Functionality
Both kurtas fall to knee length and are paired with ankle-length palazzos featuring an elasticated back waist and flat-front finish.
However, the fit differs subtly. The Navy Blue kurta is more structured thanks to the embroidery work, providing a slightly more formal silhouette. The Blueprint one, on the other hand, sits comfortably with a relaxed fit that moves with you.
Cantabil Kurtis:Styling Versatility
The Navy Blue Set can easily be styled with silver jewellery, kolhapuris, or even wedges for a dressed-up look. You could wear it to a casual puja or a friend’s brunch and still feel polished.
The Blueprint Set works beautifully with canvas flats, oxidised jhumkas, or a tan sling bag for effortless street style. It's the sort of outfit you throw on when you're in a rush, but still want to look like you made an effort.
