Ways To Join the Indian Army For Women

SSCW Non-Tech

The Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) is a great way for women without an engineering background to join the Indian Army. To be eligible, women must be between 19 and 25 years old, unmarried, and hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The selection process involves passing a written exam conducted by the UPSC, which takes place twice a year, in February and September.

SSCW (NCC)

Women who have been part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for at least two years can join the Indian Army without taking a written exam. You must be between 19 and 25 years old and have an NCC background, making it a direct entry route into the Army.

SSCW (JAG)

Advocate General's branch. You must fall in the 20- 27 years old age category and have scored at least 55% in their LLB exam. The selection process involves an SSB interview, and no written exam is required.

SSC Tech

To join the Indian Army's Technical Entry Scheme, women must hold a graduate degree in Engineering, be unmarried, and be between 20 and 27 years old. These eligibility criteria must be met to apply through this route.
