Born to Tamil doctor parents, Charithra was straddling two worlds since childhood—proving herself in the academic world and her love for performing. Growing up in Oxford, she always excelled in studies and made her presence felt in the extracurriculars as well. She participated in county-level hockey and netball, performed in school plays, and grew up fluent in both English and Tamil. “Since I was born, I've always been a performer, whether it's little dances, sing-alongs, plays, and they loved it. So I'm like: what did you guys expect?” She told the BBC.

After earning a first-class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford, she was slated to join an international consultancy firm after graduating, but something didn’t sit right. During the 2020 pandemic, watching her parents leave the house during the health crisis, she rethought life and decided to take the plunge.
