Festive Glow For Raksha Bandhan: DIY Homemade Strawberry And Lemon Face Mask

The festive season of Raksha Bandhan, celebrated on August 9, 2025, is a time of joy, love, and vibrant celebrations. To complement your festive attire, a natural, radiant glow is the perfect accessory. Instead of relying on a last-minute salon visit, you can achieve that brightening skin with a simple homemade mask using two powerhouse ingredients, strawberries and lemon.

DIY Homemade Strawberry And Lemon Face Mask

Strawberries are tasty berries packed with Vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), such as salicylic acid. They are a natural exfoliant, softly stripping away dead skin cells. While lemon Juice is a natural skin lightener and astringent, it helps to remove dark spots and balance skin tone.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 fresh strawberries
  • Half a teaspoon of lemon juice
  • Half a teaspoon of honey or plain curd

Procedure

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly and mash them in a clean bowl until you have a smooth pulp. Make sure there are no large chunks left.
  • Add the fresh lemon juice to the mashed strawberries. If you're using optional honey or curd, mix them in now until you have a creamy paste.
  • Now, gently cleanse your face and neck with a mild cleanser and pat it dry. This ensures your skin is prepped to absorb all the goodness.
  • Using clean fingers or a soft brush, apply an even layer of the paste all over your face and neck, carefully avoiding the delicate skin around your eyes and lips.
  • Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes. Let the natural acids and vitamins do their magic. Once the time is up, rinse your face with cool water, then moisturise your face to lock in the hydration.
  • For best results, use this mask 1-2 days before Raksha Bandhan to see the visible changes.
