The revered chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are set to roll out in Puri, Odisha, as devotees eagerly await the festivities of Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025. While some may be fortunate enough to witness the grandeur of this sacred event in person, some might not be able to make the journey. But distance need not diminish devotion. This year, you can still experience the essence of Jagannath Rath Yatra from the comfort of your own home.
Learn how you can observe and celebrate Jagannath Rath Yatra at your home from our expert, Rinhee Suberwal, astrologer, numerologist, tarot card reader, crystal healer, and past life regression therapist.

Suberwal said, “Worshipping Lord Jagannath from your home can be just as spiritually fulfilling as being part of the Puri Yatra, what matters is the intention and devotion behind your actions.”
1. Set Up A Sacred Space (Mandir Corner)
You have to first choose a clean and quiet corner in your home. Then, place pictures or idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra. Decorate the space with flowers, rangoli, incense sticks, and a Diya.
2. Wake Up Early And Take A Holy Bath
Rinhee said that you should start the day with a bath and wear clean traditional clothes. After that, you have to offer water and tulsi leaves to the Sun God as a gesture of purification.
3. Perform A Simple Pooja (Worship Ritual)
Suberwal said, “You can perform this at home using simple steps.”

“Light a diya and an incense stick. Offer flowers, fruits, coconut, and sweets (preferably Chhappan Bhog or Khichdi). Recite or play Jagannath Ashtakam, Hare Krishna Mahamantra, or the Rath Yatra bhajans. Offer Arati to the deities with a bell and camphor. Engage in bhajans, storytelling, and devotional singing in the evening,” she added.
4. Prepare and Share Prasad (Sacred Food)
Make simple offerings like Khichdi, Poda Pitha, or Kheer, and distribute them as Prasad to your family and neighbours to spread joy.
5. Do Seva (Service) in Lord’s Name
You should feed the poor, stray animals, or donate to temples or charities in the name of Lord Jagannath. You can also volunteer your time or help someone in need as an offering to the Lord.
