There are days when we feel like munching on something delicious in between the meals. Especially, during the evening, we feel like having a small snack. If there are kids at home, you know how difficult it is to think of some quick snacks for them after they return from play or their tuition classes. Here, we thought of bringing you some easy and quick to make recipes that you can try to make at home whenever you feel like having a small snack. 

Cheese Veg Rice

Prepare a bowl of fried rice using leftover rice, vegetables, and cheese. 

Ingredients:

  • Leftover Rice
  • Vegetables Available At Home
  • Grated Cheese 
  • Olive Oil
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Salt And Pepper As Per Taste
  • Additional Spices As Per Taste

Directions:

  1. Chop some vegetables available at home. Onions, capsicum, carrot, and cabbage can be good options. Chop and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, add some oil and cumin seeds. As the seeds splutter, add all the chopped vegetables. 
  3. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and spices as per taste and the quantity of rice and vegetables being used. 
  4. Now add leftover rice and mix all the ingredients well. 
  5. Take off flame and top with grated cheese. You can additionally add some tomato ketchup to the bowl. 
 

Veg Pakora 

Got leftover vegetables? Give them a tasty twist by making some crispy pakoras. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Gram Flour Or Besan
  • Leftover Vegetables
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Jeera Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • Salt And Pepper To Taste
  • Oil For Frying

Directions:

  1. In a big bowl, add besan, sprinkle all the spices, and pour water to make a flowing consistency. 
  2. Next, add all the vegetables and combine well. 
  3. In a kadhai, add oil for frying. Let it heat. 
  4. Using a spoon or your hands, pour pakora batter in hot oil and let them cook till golden and crispy. Serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney

Poha Crunchies

Nothing like some crispy cutlets! Make them healthy by making them using poha. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Cup Poha 
  • 1 Cup Mashed Potatoes
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1/4 Cup Peas
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala 
  • 1/4 Tsp Chat Masala
  • 3 Tsp Cornflour
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • Salt To Taste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Oil for frying

Directions:

  • Soak poha for a few minutes and then drain water. 
  • In a big bowl, add soaked poha, mashed potatoes, peas, onion, add all the spices according to taste. Mash them well.
  • Now using your hands, make small balls using the mixture. 
  • Make a mix of cornflour and water in a bowl and keep aside.
  • Dip the poha cutlets in the cornflour mix and then roll them on the breadcrumbs. 
  • In a pan, heat oil. Dip all the crunchies one by one and cook tip golden. Serve hot.

Masala Fries

Who doesn't love some crispy fries? Prepare your regular fries with a lot of masalas. 

Ingredients:

  1. 3 Potatoes
  2. 1 Tsp Salt
  3. 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  4. 1 Tsp Cumin Powder
  5. 1/2 Chopped Onion
  6. 1 Tsp Butter
  7. 1/2 Chopped Tomato
  8. Chopped Spring Onions
  9. 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

Directions:

  • Cut potatoes into thick fries and fry them. Keep them aside. 
  • In a pan, add butter, ginger garlic paste, onions, spring onions, and tomatoes. 
  • Sprinkle all the spices.
  • Next, add fried potato fries and combine all the ingredients well. Serve hot. 

Veg Bread Bowl

Turn your bread into a bowl of delicious snack with this easy recipe. 

Ingredients:

  • Bread Slices
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Chopped Tomato
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tsp Oil
  • Salt And Pepper As Per Taste
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Crushed Kasuri Methi
  • Tomato Sauce 

Directions:

  1. Cut bread slices into small cubes and keep aside. 
  2. In a pan, add oil, chopped onion, green chilli, and tomato. 
  3. Next, add ginger garlic paste and mix well. 
  4. Now sprinkle all the spices and combine them. Add some water if the mix starts to stick. 
  5. Add kasuri methi, tomato ketchup, and coriander leaves. 
  6. Time to add the bread cubes. Make sure all the bread cubes are coated with the masala mix. 
  7. Take off flame and serve.
