Generally, we consume our same old baked biscuits with tea, but in case you’re bored with it, you must try something different, something like a veg lollipop. This snack recipe is light, healthy, and scrumptious. It is also loved by everyone, including children. So, if you’re looking for an option to feed them wholesome veggies, give them utterly delicious, veg lollipop.

Ingredients

  • 1 boiled and mashed potato
  • ¼ cup grated cabbage
  • ¼ cup grated carrots
  • ¼ grated beetroot
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • ¼ cup finely chopped capsicum
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onions
  • ½ teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala
  • salt as taste
  • 3 tablespoons rice flour
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon besan
  • 1 cup cooking oil.

Step

  1. Step 1:

    To prepare the mixture, take a bowl, add all the healthy vegetables, beetroot, potato, cabbage, capsicum and chillies in it.

  2. Step 2:

    Add your spices, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, Kashmiri red chilli powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, and chaat masala in the mixture.

  3. Step 3:

    Then add salt and rice flour. Bind them all together in a thick dough and refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Make small balls of the mixture.

  5. Step 5:

    In another bowl, make the crumb coating. Add 1 tablespoon besan, and 2 tablespoons water. Make sure the batter has no lumps.

  6. Step 6:

    On a plate, add ½ cup of bread crumbs.

  7. Step 7:

    Now take each ball, dip in the gram flour batter, then coat the ball with crumbs. Make sure the coat is even.

  8. Step 8:

    Place a wok on the stove, add oil and heat it on a medium flame.

  9. Step 9:

    When the oil becomes hot, gently place the ball in it.

  10. Step 10:

    Fry until the base turns crisp and a light golden in colour, and then turn each ball over.

  11. Step 11:

    Lastly, place a toothpick in the center of each vegetable ball.

  12. Step 12:

    Arrange your veg lollipops on a tray and serve hot with any dip of your choice.
