Chaitra Navratri 2022 has already begun. It is one of the most auspicious festivals in India. This is the time when most of us fast and enjoy some delicious Navratri food. Sweet potato is one common ingredient used to prepare these delicacies. If you too are fasting this Navratra, then cook these easy and interesting recipes shared with us by Chef Jyoti from Adda 126.

Chatpate Aloo Sabzi

Ingredients:

  • 2 big sweet potatoes and cut into cubes
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp green chilies, cut into extremely fine pieces.
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • Rock salt

Directions:

First, take the tomatoes and cut them into 4. Now add them to a blender to make a puree. Take a kadhai and add ghee to it. Add cumin seeds and let it cook. Next add ginger and green chilies and cook for a few minutes. Add pureed tomatoes and rock salt, stir for few minutes. Pour some water and cover and cook for 5-10 minutes on low flame. Cut potatoes Add potato pieces, give it a boil and its ready. It is perfect for fasting during Navratri.

Potato Kheer

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grated sweet potato
  • 2 cups Milk
  • Chopped cashews and almonds
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • Saffron strands
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tbsp ghee

Directions:

Take a pan and add some ghee. Now add cashews and almonds in ghee. Roast and stir till brown in colourand then keep aside. Next add, grated sweet potato and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add milk and let it boil on low flame for about 10 minutes until the milk gets thick. Now add sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame. Sprinkle some cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with roasted nuts, your kheer is ready!
