Like we all know, fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty led India to set a new Guinness World Record for holding the abdominal plank position for 60 seconds. Yes, you read it right. This 43-year-old celebrity mom is fit as a fiddle and giving a cut-throat competition to leading actors of film fraternity in fitness. She took to her Instagram handle and captioned: ...And the current “Guinness world record” title holder for the most people( 2353 people with nearly 3000 people participating ) doing the #Plank is now with India (formerly held by China with 1780 people) . Recently, Shilpa Shetty is seen decoding the importance of chakrasana in one of her Instagram videos. Her endless dedication to get it all right is quite motivating for every woman. She has been giving a beautiful message while performing this asana: Today’s mantra “Life will be simpler if you don’t bend backwards for anyone but yourself.” The Chakrasana is an intense backward bend creating necessary space in your spine to keep you young and healthy. “The Wheel”(Chakra) pose sets momentum for the circulatory, nervous and endocrine system, just like the wheel sets momentum for a car helping it run smoothly. This asana opens up the Manipuraka chakra (solar plexus) building confidence, clarity of thought, self assurance,wisdom, knowledge and bliss..Bend backwards for yourself and see the world bend forward ..with RESPECT. Isn’t that inspiring? Yes, it is.

From performing toughest asana like a boss to following a healthy and balanced diet, you can take enough fitness cues from her social handle. When it comes to eating healthy, Shilpa Shetty starts her day with fruits such as papaya, pineapple, avocado and two poached eggs. Plus she likes keep her fans updated with every bit and piece about her diet plan. This gym rat does not eat after 8pm and consumes about 1800 calories a day. What about the cheat days? In a whole week, she takes one day as her cheat day to curb cravings.
