If you live in northern India, you know you have several options for a quick getaway. You can either head to Rajasthan to enjoy breath-taking palaces, or you can simply go to West Bengal to relish the most amazing street foods. However, after battling with the city rush, most of us look forward to visiting some tranquillizing place.

The nearest spot happens to be Uttarakhand, a land with some of the most scenic and uplifting views. But, are you bored of roaming around the same cities and their riverbanks? Here are some of the less-visited areas in the villages of Uttarakhand that will relax your mind and soul in the most amazing way.

This small village near Nainital is like no other! It has its own charm and beauty which you might not get to enjoy anywhere else. This place not only offers you peace, but also a couple of picture-worthy views, where you can go crazy with your camera. When at Pangot, don’t forget to go to Naina Peak, Kilbury, Snow View Point, etc, as these are the main attractions of this beautiful village. You might not get the most lip-smacking food here, but the views will definitely satisfy you.

Another delightful village of Uttarakhand is Kausani. Situated in Bageshwar district, this village can be defined as one of off-beat hill stations. People mostly visit this place from the national capital to relax during the weekends. Also, you will get the most amazing view of Himalayan peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. If you want to travel on a budget, this place is just perfect as you will be covered in less than Rs 2000.

If at this point in your life, you’re feeling tired of everything around you, simply pack your bags and head to Kalap. This village sits at an altitude of 7800ft in the upper Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. With the birds chirping and wind blowing, you will feel calm and fresh. Sitting across the river in this village, River Supin you will feel utter peace.

There are times when one should forget about everything happening around, at least for a day, and devote those 24 hours to pamper themselves. If you are up for this, go nowhere else other than Khirsu to spend time with yourself. This village is a hill station (must visit hill stations) in Pauri Garhwal district, situated at an altitude of 1700 m. For solo travellers, this is nothing but paradise. From here, you can get a view of Nanda Devi, Nandakot, Panchchuli and Trishul peaks.
