Just cleaning your face with a cleanser won't really help you get flawless skin. That's because we expose our skin to so many different environmental factors on a daily basis including harmful rays of the sun, polluted air, and dust among others.

All this exposure does have a negative impact on our skin. This long exposure can lead to build-up of dead skin cells on our skin which can make our face look dry and dull. It can further also lead to skin-related issues like pigmentation, acne, blackheads among others.

An easy way to get rid of it is taking a beauty treatment like a cleanup.

What Is A Cleanup?

A cleanup is quite like your regular facial but it isn't as time-consuming. The steps are almost as similar to a regular facial.

  • Cleansing
  • Steaming
  • Scrubbing
  • Massaging
  • Applying Face Pack

How To Do A Cleanup At Home?

Step 1 - Cleanse With A Face Wash Or Makeup Remover

Begin with washing away any impurities on your skin. You can use a makeup remover if you have makeup on or a regular face wash or cleanser to clean your face. Take a small quantity and massage gently in circular motions. Wash with normal water or wipe off with a tissue.

If you feel your skin is still dirty then you can use oil to cleanse your face. It is also known as double cleansing where your clean your face using facial oil. Apply it all over your face and neck and then remove using a tissue.

Step 2 - Steam With A Warm Towel Or Facial Steamer

Steaming is an essential step when it comes to a clean-up because it helps remove any dullness from your face. It removes harmful toxins, dead layers, blackheads, and whiteheads. You can simply use a facial steamer for a couple of minutes if you have one or place a warm towel on your face for some time. This will help you open up your pores and cleanse your skin better.

Make sure you let your face cool after steaming. You can use an ice roller or an ice cube.

Use a homemade scrub prepared using rice flour and curd or sugar and coffee. Gently scrub off your face with this DIY scrub. It will help clear any dead skin from your face and make it soft and smooth.

You can also use a regular scrub that suits your skin. Massage in circular motions gently for 1-2 minutes and then wash off.

Step 4 - Massage With A Cream

To improve the blood circulation on your face, you should use a good massage cream or gel. You can use anything depending on your skin type. This will work well for you if you have dry and dull skin. This quick massage will make your skin look healthy and beautiful. (face massage benefits)

Your clean up is incomplete without a nourishing face pack. You can use a desi face pack which can be prepared using gram flour or besan, a pinch of turmeric, honey, and water, curd, or milk. Mix well to make a paste. Apply it all over the face and neck. Let it dry and then wash off.

This face pack will help tighten your skin.

Finish off the clean-up with a spritz of some rose water which will cool your skin and tone it.

If you are someone who is always running late and can't really find out enough time to get a facial done then you can go with a cleanup. The results are great and it doesn't really require much time.
