The decision to undergo IVF treatment can be both exciting and intimidating. As you prepare to take this significant step towards building your family, it's essential to acknowledge the emotional and physical challenges that come with it. Let us take some tips from our expert, Dr Shilpa Saple, Director IVF, Surya Fertility Clinics – Santacruz, Chembur, on how to prepare emotionally and physically for IVF.
Dr Shilpa said, “Deciding to move ahead with IVF is a huge decision for the couple. Once the decision is made it is important to give the process its justified care. The important steps to be considered are as follows:”
“With many new mushrooming IVF centers, it is important to find the clinic which offers the treatment all under one roof. So that you do not have to hassle running from one place to another to get tests, examinations, and procedures done at different places. A detailed consultation with the doctor to explain the process, the number of visits, the type of injections should be done,” said Dr Saple.
“It is important to talk to the counsellor at the clinic to clear any doubts and fears you may have. Express yourself completely. Counselling should be done for both partners. Fertility issues are a joint responsibility of both the partners. And having a good supportive partner eases out the stress of the process completely,” shared the expert.
