Dr Indramani said, “Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and winter blues are common during the colder months due to reduced sunlight exposure.” He highlighted that evening walks can counteract these effects by stimulating the production of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators. Walking also reduces levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, which can be particularly beneficial in maintaining mental health during winter.
