On Keeping Up With Fitness During Quarantine

If you are following Sonali on Instagram, you know she is indulging in a lot of activities when she isn't able to hit the gym. She said, "I am doing a lot of Yoga, I am using this time to improve my strength and flexibility. For Yoga, you don't need any equipment, you just need a mat. It helps in keeping my mind occupied and sane and the meditation that comes with Yoga really helps. Some days I also do a bit of the band workout with whatever little equipment I have at home. I pick my potted plants which weigh about 3-4 kgs and I do some weights with them or I pick some books and use them as weights, basically with things that are at house. I also tried dancing, I do that once a week or twice a week. I involve my mom in that. So we play some Bollywood music and dance and its a great cardio. I am also brushing up my Kathak and its great cardio for me."

Talking about her daily diet, she said, "I don't follow a diet really. I am someone who eats healthy. I don't refrain myself or deprive myself of any carbs or any food. My breakfast is usually dosa or toast, poha, upma or paratha. I eat a lot of homemade white butter. My lunch is rice and veggies. I love popcorn and am bingeing on it more after the lockdown but I restrict that as it is not healthy to have it everyday. I stay away from processed food, chips and all as it is not healthy. But I indulge from time to time, pakora, bread rolls, French fries all made at home."

Sonali's Morning Regime

Many Bollywood divas follow a morning regime religiously and Sonali is one of them. Sharing her morning regime, she said, "My morning regime is quite elaborate even on a normal day. I have energised water first, I keep it on my bedside and I have a certain meditation and prayer I do to it. I then have alkaline water, lemon water or apple cider vinegar water. I then do my Yoga and after that, I have one fruit, soaked almonds, walnuts, and figs. So that takes a while and I have to space it. I finish around more than 1-liter water in the morning."

Sonali also shared that she has started to have haldi water after the coronavirus outbreak. She also adds adrak or ginger to it for flavour. She shared that turmeric or Kacchi haldi is effective when you boil it in water. I have it 4 times a day. She suggests it to everyone as it is great for immunity.

Skincare Routine

We really envy Sonali's spotless skin and wonder what's the secret! Well, Sonali shared that she doesn't follow an elaborate skincare routine and sticks to basic cleansing. She said, "The good part about this lockdown is that there is no makeup happening so there is no torture on your skin or hair. Skin is getting time to heal and anyway looking better, especially for me because I have oily skin and it tends to breakout acne. My skin feels so good. I just use normal soap to wash my face but recently thought my skin needs a good scrub."

"I made a scrub using rice and dal, mixed it with some rose water and gently scrubbed my face with it. My skin was super smooth. I also used a tomato on my face and it helped me clear the dead skin and also shuts the pores. I also use a coffee scrub on my face. I use leftover coffee from my French press. I mix some coconut oil, sugar and apply it all over my body and then just rub it and shower. My skin becomes so smooth, way better than buying those expensive coffee scrubs. This is homemade and I swear by it."

Secret To Those Healthy And Glossy Tresses

Sonali feels that the secret to her healthy hair is her genes and diet. She said, "I am actually very lucky because I get my good hair because of my good genes but I have always taken really good care of my hair. Since my childhood, I have always eaten the right food, oiled my hair. Because of my profession, it has been tortured, it has deteriorated. My hairdresser still tells me that I have good quality of hair. Hair is also something with the kind of food you eat, more leafy greens, stay hydrated. I stopped oiling thinking it won't come off or would lead to hair fall but now because of the lockdown I am oiling it again. I don't go out so it doesn't collect dust. After oiling I just wash it. Apart from that, I use basic good shampoos that my hairdresser advises. I use sulfate free, cruelty-free shampoos. My hair is more to do with the kind of food I eat."

Sonali Seygall was last making news when she was spotted distributing food to poor and animals when the lockdown began. On the work front, Sonali Seygall was seen in Jai Mummy Di opposite Sunny Singh. She rose to fame with her first film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama. She will next be seen in the movie Boondi Raita opposite Himansh Kohli.
