    We all face one common issue in our kitchens and that is the gas burners getting all dirty and greasy. You would wonder why the gas burners get so dark and dirty so quickly, the reason is that the oil we use while cooking get accumulated on the burners in form of vapours or because of spillage. These oil on the burner then attracts the dust and dirt particles and after a while when the burners are not cleaned regularly, then the surface starts to block the burner holes and thus interrupt in a proper flame.

    Thus, it is necessary to keep cleaning the gas burner regularly so as to avoid dysfunction in your gas stove. So, read on and find out how you can actually clean the burner at home with the help of some simple ingredients.

    Start By Washing The Burners

    Wash the burners like you usually wash your utensils, using a scrub pad and soap. This will help in cleaning all the minute dirt particles on the top. 

    Soak The Burners In Vinegar

    Take a bowl big enough to soak your burners in it. Fill the bowl with white vinegar making sure that all the burners are properly dipped in vinegar.

    Cleaning with Tooth Brush

    After 2-3 hours of the burners being soaked in the vinegar, wear your safety gloves and take a toothbrush and start rubbing it over the surface of the burners. You will notice that the surface of the burners is starting to release the tough stains that were making it greasy and black.  After cleaning all the burners with a toothbrush once, leave them overnight in the vinegar bowl.

    Cleaning The Burners With Soap 

    Next morning, take a steel wool and add some soap to it, scrub it thoroughly over the burners to remove the dirt that has been accumulated. This process may also take a little time, but you will have to be patient to see shining burners that’ll be as good as new.

    Use The Metal Brush

    You have almost completed the cleaning but in case you still see dark spots on your burners., then use a metal brush to get rid of them. Just scrub the burners with the brush moving to and fro over the spots and the holes. This will help in quick removal of the leftover spots and will also nicely unblock the holes of the burner.

    Cleaning With Baking Soda

    Just in case your burner stains are really tough and are still not going away, then baking soda(baking soda for beauty) is the tool that will help you.  Take some baking soda and sprinkle it over wet burners, leave it on for 10 minutes and then scrub it out with a scrub pad or toothbrush.  This step will surely transform your burners and bring back their lost shine. But perhaps this step will only be required if you haven’t cleaned your burners in a long time.

    Rinsing The Burners

    Now throw away the vinegar from the bowl and take some water in it instead. Rinse all the burners in it and then repeat the process, you can also keep the burners directly under a tap and then rinse them. Lastly, dry the burners off with a kitchen towel and place them back on the stove. Do this process at least 1 in a month for easy and quick cleaning of the burners.
