When it comes to breakfast, nothing can really beat a crispy, flavourful homemade paratha with a dollop of butter and a bowl of curd. Agree? Parathas are no longer just a 'Punjabi' thing, they are made all across India. If you are bored having those regular aloo and gobhi parathas then we have an easy and tasty recipe to share with you. This onion or pyaaz paratha is crunchy and filling, just the perfect breakfast.

How To Make Onion Paratha At Home?

  • In a big bowl, add 2 cups of whole wheat flour or atta.
  • Add in 1-2 tsp of oil and a pinch of salt.
  • Keep adding water as required to knead the dough.
  • Cover the dough with a cloth or plate and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes.
  • Chop 1-2 onions, make sure the pieces are small or you can have a problem while rolling your paratha.
  • Also, chop 1-2 green chillies.
  • In a bowl, add chopped onions and green chillies. Sprinkle some red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder and mix well.
  • Take a small portion from the atta dough and roll flat.
  • Place the onion and green chillies mixture in the center and then bring the edges of the dough together.
  • Start to roll it again using a rolling pin. If you want a thick paratha, you can also flatten the dough using your fingers.
  • On a tawa or non-stick pan, spread some ghee and place the paratha over it.
  • Cook on medium to high flame.
  • Roast the paratha till it's brown and crisp.
  • Take off flame and top it with some butter. Serve with curd.
