Ingredients

  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp butter
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp ajwain
  • For the Samosa Filling
  • 2 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • ¼ cup fresh peas
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ¼ roasted cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp refined oil
  • a pinch black salt
  • salt to taste

Step

  1. Step 1:

To prepare this mouth-watering recipe, mix together all purpose flour, salt, butter and ajwain with a little water to make a smooth dough. Let the dough rest for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  2. Step 2:

Microwave the potatoes for 6 minutes while you blanch the peas. After the potatoes are microwaved, mash and peel them.

  3. Step 3:

Heat oil in a pan on medium flame and saute chopped onions and all the spices.

  4. Step 4:

Next, add mashed potatoes and blanched peas to it and mix it well. Remove the pan from heat once the mixture gets cooked.

  5. Step 5:

Now, roll out a few small-sized balls from the dough. Flatten them further with the help of your palms and then with a rolling pin. Give them a round shape and cut it in half.

  6. Step 6:

Take a semi-circle. Apply water on the edges and fold the semi-circle in a cone shape.

  7. Step 7:

Stuff the potato mixture and then seal the upper edges with the help of water. Then, heat oil in a pan and deep fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy.

  8. Step 8:

Whisk the yogurt with some sugar and red chilli powder. Transfer the fried samosas in a plate and roughly break it into pieces.

  9. Step 9:

Now, pour the curd over the samosas and add tamarind chutney onto it.

  10. Step 10:

Top with sev, crushed papdis, chaat masala, cumin powder, and pomegranate and enjoy!
