Gangubai Kathiawadi is the story of a girl called Ganga from a respected Gujarati family who is sold into prostitution and then rises from the ashes to become Gangubai, head of Kathiawadi which is a red-light district.
A satirical narration of domestic abuse, Darlings was an OTT release and did big numbers, all thanks to the hooking portrayal and prolific performances by the cast. Shefali Shah shined in this domestic drama. Her camaraderie with on-screen daughter Alia Bhatt in the movie set the tone of the film in the very beginning and it kept the viewers hooked. Shefali Shah's character, Shamshu seemed vulnerable in certain parts of the movie, leaving the audience for more.
