From our features to our hair texture, everything is determined by our genetic and hereditary factors. People cannot change the basic texture but they can and certainly do try to change it with hair straighteners and curlers. But in the end, it all boils down to the care you take of your mane. If you have curly hair then these tips would come in handy as they make those locks look less frizzy, more bouncy, retaining the shine and strength.
The most important rule is that curly hair should be washed using mild herbal shampoos. If you can get your hands on shampoos with conditioner then the better it is. Wash your hair twice a week and not more than that unless you live somewhere with a really humid climate.
After shampooing, apply a creamy conditioner. Apply on the hair ends as well for the curls to turn out smoother. Leave it on for 2 minutes and then rinse with plain water. Using a leave-in conditioner is also a good idea but if you are a hair serum person then go for it to make your hair smooth and shiny. Either of these can be applied to wet or dry hair.
To smoothen your curls, mix water in a creamy hair conditioner and then store it in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on your hair and then comb the hair to spread the product all over.
Another quick conditioning treatment is that you mix one egg with a tablespoon of mayonnaise and a teaspoon of olive oil. Apply it on the hair and leave it on for around 30 minutes and wash.
As a home remedy, you can also apply aloe vera gel to curly hair. It is a very good moisturiser and hair softener. Apply it and keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash on the hair and wash of.
Setting the curls is not an issue. You can use a roller set. This is temporary and the set lasts until the next shampoo routine. You hair must be damp for temporary curling with rollers. You can also use mousse and lotions for the roller setting. If you have a curling wand then that would give you gentler curls and subtle waves.
If you use a hairdryer, use a big round brush to control the curls. Make sure you divide the hair into sections. All you have to do now is pin them up and dry them one by one. Always blow dry in a downward direction.

The texture of curly hair can be rough. What you need is hot oil therapy. Mix one part of castor oil with two parts coconut oil. Heat for a few seconds in the microwave and apply. Avoid vigorous massage and rubbing when you apply the oil. Massage gently and make sure you massage the scalp for better circulation using only the fingertips.
After washing the hair too, avoid rubbing with your towel. It is best to wrap a cotton thin towel around the head and allow it to absorb excess water. Comb out the tangles using a wide toothed comb, starting from the ends and working upwards. You can also take hair spa treatments to soften hair texture and add shine.
