Do you love the idea of going on a long vacation abroad? We all do, right? But often our wishes are overshadowed by the struggles associated with the visa application process. 

In order to make your trip hassle-free, here are some countries where a visa is not required for Indians or it can be stamped on your passport when you reach there. So, what are you waiting for? Maldives

Located in the Indian Ocean, Maldives is an archipelago of more than 1000 islands. It is famous for its white sandy beaches, sparkling blue water that submerges the colourful reefs, and cloudless skies.

Maldives is also considered to be the best destination for newlyweds or couples, in general, because of its romantic ambiance and postcard-worthy locations. However, nowadays, the country has also seen a rise in tourists who make a trip there for a family vacation. With its exquisite resorts, luxurious water villas, and relaxing spas, the country can surely satiate your hunger for luxe.

Visa Requirements: Indian nationals are provided with a tourist visa-on-arrival which has a 30-day limit. However, it can also be extended up to 90 days.  

Major Attractions: Maafushi Island, Biyadhoo Island, Banana Reef, Artificial Beach, Grand Friday Mosque, Seagull Cafe, and Majidhee Magu.

Mauritius

Mauritius is a heavenly land that satisfies numerous visitors with varied interests. It is known for its pristine beaches, lagoons, and reefs. 

While Mauritius is just 1.5 times the land size of our very own Delhi, the amount of adventure is not only limited to the marine life but museums demonstrating its rich cultural diversity and breath-taking heritage parks can also astonish tourists. Because of its diversity, it is becoming a favourite destination among tourists travelling with kids and couples for a romantic getaway.

Visa Requirements: Indian citizens travelling to Mauritius will be given a 60-day visa-on-arrival. To receive the permit, they must have a valid return ticket and adequate funds to meet the cost of their stay.

Major Attractions: Île aux Cerfs Island, Port Louis, Pamplemousses Garden and SSR Botanical Garden, Black River Gorges National Park, Grand Bassin, and Chamarel waterfalls.

Fiji

Next up on our list is a country known for its heavenly tropical islands – Fiji. It is the quintessential South Pacific paradise as it comprises more than 300 islands. Whether you are planning for a solo trip, a family escape, or a romantic getaway with your BAE, Fiji’s white sand beaches and jungle rivers are for you. The country has an ample number of private islands, resorts, spas, and outdoor adventures.

Visa Requirements: Due to the diplomatic ties between India and Fiji, Indian nationals do not need to apply for a visa if the duration of the travel is less than 12 days. However, they can get up to 4 months visa-on-arrival.

Major Attractions: Fiji Museum, Colo-I-Suva Forest Park, Snake God Cave, Tavoro Waterfalls, Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, and Bouma National Heritage Park.

Seychelles

If you want to experience one of the planet's most picturesque stretches of sea and sand then, it is your cue to visit Seychelles! Its stunning white-sand beaches coupled with granite rock lining the coast and clear azure water add to a breath-taking sight. It is an archipelago of 115 islands and is blessed with a year-round warm, tropical climate. It is famous for activities such as sailing, snorkeling, surfing, diving, hiking, and bird-watching. 

Visa Requirements: Though Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Seychelles. However, they need to acquire a permit from the country’s immigration department which remains valid for 30 days.

Major Attractions: Anse Intendance, Anse Lazio, Morne Seychellois National Park, La Digue Island, and Vallée de Mai National Park.

NOTE: Please read and comply with the COVID-19 requirements of the respective country. In most of these countries, international travel is permitted for vaccinated permit holders.
