She Is Born In The Family Of Athletes

PV Sindhu was born on 5 July, 1995 to PV Ramana and P Vijaya. Both of her parents are athletes. Both of them qare national level volleyball players. Her father won the Arjuna award in 2000. This proves her interest in sports as it runs in the blood.

She Used To Travel 120 Km By Train Daily

PV Sindhu's interest in badminton developed at a young age and she made all the efforts to pursue the sport. For more than 12 years, she woke up at 3 am and her father took her to Gopichand's academy for training. They used to travel 60 km twice a day.

She Missed Her Sister's Wedding For A Tournament

OV Sindhu's sister got married in 2012 in Hyderabad. However, Sindhu couldn't attend the wedding because of a badminton tournament. Then 17-year-old Sindhu was playing in the Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold in Lucknow during her sister's wedding.

She Once Went Without Her Phone For 3 Months

We all know about the achievements of PV Sindhu but not many of you know the struggle behind it. In order to focus on her training during the 2016 Olympics, her coach Pullela Gopichand took away her phone for three months.

She Likes To Swim & Meditate

We all know that PV Sindhu is passionate about badminton but when she is not playing, she likes to spend her time swimming and meditating. She told NDTV in 2019 that “I meditate to stay calm”. Also, we have seen her in a swimming pool in her Instagram posts.

She Is A Foodie

We have spotted several pictures on PV Sindhu’s Instagram that confirms that she is a big foodie. Delicious food pictures can often be spotted on her Insta handle. It was also revealed that one of her favourite foods is sweet curd. In an old interview after her win, Coach Pullela Gopichand said to a leading daily that “I had deprived her from having sweet curd which she likes most. I also stopped her from eating ice-cream. Now she can eat whatever she wants.”
