Norway’s Magnus Carlsen defeats India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa to win the FIDE Chess World Cup 2023 in an interesting and nail-biting match. The FIDE Chess World Cup 2023 was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

FIDE Chess World Cup 2023 Finals: World's No.1 Magnus Carlsen defeats India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa to win the FIDE Chess World Cup 2023. The chess champion competed against World's No.1 Magnus Carlsen at Baku in Azerbaijan. India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen had a draw at their last final.The winner Carlsen will take home $1,10,000 (₹90,93,551) while the runner-up Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa will be awarded $80,000 (₹66,13,444).

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa the Indian chess prodigy lost to World's No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the FIDE World Cup's dramatic championship match. His extraordinary journey came to an end. After the classical rounds were over, Carlsen won the match in the tie-breaker match 1.5-0.5.

Magnus Carlsen and Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa were prepared for the challenge after defeating many stronger players in a short time frame. Both of them played the chess game very skillfully and strategically. Magnus Carlsen claimed to have had food poisoning following the semifinal match in Baku, and he showed signs of fatigue and lack of concentration in the first matchup with India's Rameshbabu.

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa is a chess prodigy. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on August 10, 2005. He is one of India's youngest chess players. In 2013, Praggnanandhaa won the Under-8 World Youth Chess Championship, earning him the FIDE Master title. He took home the under-10 title in 2015. He is the fourth-youngest person to achieve Grandmaster (GM) as of April 2021. He became an international master at the age of 10 and a grandmaster at the age of 12. (second-youngest at the time to do so). He began playing the game at the age of three and since then he has taken chess by storm. He has been inspiring a lot of Indian kids to generate interest in chess.

He was born in Tønsberg, Norway, on November 30, 1990. In the FIDE global chess rankings, Carlsen has been ranked first since July 1, 2011. When he was five years old, his father first introduced him to the game of chess. At the age of eight, he took part in his first tournament and since then he has been constantly improving his game and winning various championships as well as inspiring millions of young kids.
