In the 2004 Hindi film Chameli starring Rahul Bose, Kapoor plays the role of a street-smart sex worker who gives refuge to Aman Kapoor (played by Bose) in a stormy night after his car breaks down. Kapoor’s portrayal of Chameli helped her regain her persona on screen with the critical acclamations from all over and the several awards it won.

The 2006 Hindi crime drama film is the adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Othello directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The film featured an ensemble cast comprising Ajay Devgn, Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi, and Bipasha Basu. The film is the second in Bharadwaj’s trilogy of Shakespeare’s adaptions after Maqbool (Macbeth). Kapoor plays the role of Dolly Mishra, a bride who is abducted by Omkara.

The 2001 Hindi film Asoka starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kapoor is an epic historical drama film directed and co-written by Santosh Sivan. The film is a dramatised version of the early life of emperor Asoka of the Maurya dynasty, who ruled most of the Indian subcontinent in the 3rd century BCE. Kapoor plays the role of Kaurwaki, who Asoka met during his travels and later falls in love with.
