Holi is a festival of colours and boundless happiness. The festival is one of the most important festivals that is celebrated in India. The festival is originally for the Hindus but while the celebration begins it forgets all the barriers of religion and people from all faiths and communities participate to multiply the joy and double the celebration. 

It is time for us to get up and celebrate this year holi with all the thrill, fun and frolic that we missed last year. But that definitely doesn’t signify the flouting of rules that are made for your protection and safety due to COVID. 

So, if you are planning to throw a massive holi party this year, here are some DIY projects that would come in handy and would help you to achieve perfection in the decor without spending much money. So, take a look.

The Complete Holi Tray

You might have pinned those beautiful trays that come with colours, sweets, fancy decoration on Pinterest, haven’t you? Well, what if we tell you that you can make them at home easily?

Yes, you very well can do that. All you need is a tray, some colourful papers, some glasses or bowls to store the colours and a few popsicle sticks.

Start by making fans out of coloured papers, fold them in half and then join them to form a circular pattern. Attach the popsicle sticks to them. Make about five of them. Then take different colours and fill the bowls with them. Take a plate, place a coloured paper over it and keep sweets on it.  Cut strips out of the coloured sheets of paper and arrange them on the tray. Take the fans and attach them to the tray too. Assemble the tray and add the colour names to the bowls with colour.

Paper Chains

Paper Chains can amp up any empty space and can serve as the perfect backdrop for your holi pictures.  All you need is glue, scissors and coloured papers. Cut the coloured paper into half, then cut out thin, 1 can strip out of it. Do this with all your papers and then take the strips and apply glue at the end of it, and stick making a circular ring. Take another strip and pass it through the ring and stick its ends too. Keep making the chain till you achieve the length you want.

Just print out quirky Holi messages and phrases and print out the images. Cut out the images and attach a popsicle stick behind them. Add a cardboard sheet to make the props more sturdy.
