Hydrogen Peroxide And Vinegar
Take an empty spray bottle and fill it up with warm water. To the water, add ¼ cup of vinegar and 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide. To this mix, add 3 tsp of dye-free soap. Shake well. It is important to first test this homemade mix at a particular spot since you are using hydrogen peroxide and it may cause discoloration at times. You can spray the solution in a piece of cloth and rub it on the smelly spot and leave it overnight. If no side effects take place then your spray is good to go! Also, ensure that you use 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Carpet shampoos can be easily found online. Since they have their own fragrance, they will counter the odor of the damp carpet. Take some carpet shampoo on your sponge and rub it all over your damp carpet. Let it soak for some time. Make sure your carpet doesn’t get too wet due to your shampoo. After 20-30 minutes vacuum the entire carpet twice.
