How many times have we had that craving for mushroom Manchurian dry especially when we are binge-watching or we smell some Chinese in office or it is raining outside and we want to indulge in something good?! So many times we want to order but then think of our pocket as well right? To combat that pocket guilt and "bahar ka khaana" we have thought why not make it at home! So here is a recipe which will help you indulge but in a healthier way cuz its "ghar ka"!

Dry Mushroom Manchurian

Ingredients

For Batter

  • Half cup maida
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 200 gm mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/4 cup water

For Manchurian

  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 chopped chilly
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cubed onions
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cubed capsicum
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp kali mirch
  • Salt as per taste
  • chopped spring onion for garnishing

 

Method

  • Clean the mushrooms and chop them lengthwise.
  • Add maida, cornflour, salt, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and oil.
  • Add water and mix everything and coat the mushrooms. Make it thick to and coat the mushrooms.
  • Line a baking tray with baking sheet and put all the mushrooms in a row but in a little distance.

  • Preheat oven at 200 C for 15 mins till they turn golden brown.
  • In a pan, heat oil and add the chopped garlic and green chillies.
  • Fry them for few seconds, add in the cubed onions and capsicum and fry for a few minutes on a medium flame. Do not skip on capsicum because it has a number of health benefits.

  • Now add soya sauce, sugar, salt and pepper powder and mix for 2 mins.
  • Add oven-baked mushrooms in a pan and make sure all the mushrooms are coated in that sauce.
  • Garish with spring onions
  • Serve.
