The Classic Hot Toddy
The Hot Toddy is an evergreen holiday drink that adds the right amount of warmth to your festive season.
Ingredients:
- Half a cup of hot water
- 30 to 60 ml of dark rum, whisky, or bourbon
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 spoon lemon juice
- A lemon wedge or cinnamon stick to garnish
How to mix:
- Add a cup of water in a mug and heat on low flame or microwave for two minutes until it is piping hot but not boiling.
- To this add 30 to 60 ml of your choice of dark rum, whisky, or bourbon.
- Top it with a tablespoon of honey and a spoon of lemon juice to add the sweet and sour zest as per taste.
- Drop in a wedge of lemon and a cinnamon stick to pack a punch of robust flavour in the drink, if you like.

Holiday Special Mulled Wine
Mulled wine is a no brainer when it comes to another perfect yet classic cocktail to be sipped on during the holidays.

Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of your favourite red wine.
- 1/4 a of cup brandy
- 1 orange, peeled and sliced into rounds
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup to add your desired sweetener as per taste
How to mix:
- Start by combining all the ingredients in a saucepan or a pot and give them a quick stir.
- Heat the mixture on a medium flame until the wine almost begins to simmer. Don’t let it bubble away to save it from evaporating.
- Reduce the heat, cover the lid completely and allow the mixture to simmer for at least 15 minutes or a maximum up to three hours.
- Strain the wine with the help of a fine mesh strainer. Pick out and discard the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger. Take a sip of the mulled wine to taste and stir while adding your choice of sweetener, if you like.
- Serve the drink warm and top it up with your favourite garnishes.
