Make hotel style coconut chutneys of different kinds, and enjoy your idlis and dosas at home with each bite dipped in them. Chutneys are healthy and tasty and definitely very easy to make. All you need is the grinder as the ingredients are very easy to find and you may be having them already in your kitchen.
White Coconut Chutney

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp curd
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup roasted Bengal gram
- 1/2 inch chopped ginger
- 1 chopped green chilli
- Salt to taste
For Tempering
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp Urad Dal
- 1-2 dry broken red chillies
- 8 curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp hing
Method
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender but use very little water to make a nice thick paste.
- Transfer it all in a bowl.
- Tempering
- Heat oil in a small pan and then add mustard seeds and the urad dal.
- Fry till the dal turns brown.
- Now add the curry leaves, chillies, and hing and then pour it on the chutney and mix well.
Kobbari Pachadi Or Andhra Style Chutney

Ingredients:
- For Chutney
- Half cup of grated coconut
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 2 tsps chana dal
- 2 tsps coriander seeds
- 1 chopped green chillies
- 2 dry red chillies
- 1/4 inch chopped ginger
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 3 tsps oil
- Salt as per taste
For Tempering
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp urad dal
- 4 curry leaves
- 1 tsp oil
Methods:
- Saute the dals and coriander seeds in the oil till they turn light brown.
- Add dry the chillies, ginger and saute for a few seconds.
- Now add in the coconut and saute & then let it cool at room temp.
- Grind the cooled down mixture with sugar, salt and tamarind paste.
- If need be, add a tbsp of water and then transfer to a bowl.
- Now heat a tsp of oil and crackle the mustard seeds, dal and curry leaves in it till the dal turns light brown.
- Next remove it from pan and pour over the chutney in a bowl.
- Your chutney is ready to be served.
Green Coconut Chutney

Ingredients:
- 1/4 inch ginger
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp roasted chana dal
- 1½ tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt as per taste
For Tempering
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 4 curry leaves
- 2 tsps oil
Method
- Take the ginger, chillies, garlic, grated coconut, ginger, garlic, green chillies, roasted peanuts and salt and grind.
- Next, add the coriander leaves, lemon juice and water and grind again.
- Add more water if needed and then transfer to a bowl.
- For the tempering, crackle the mustard seeds in a bowl, add the curry leaves and saute and then add the micture to the chutney and serve in a bowl.
