From Working In Farms To Becoming A YouTube Star, This Telangana Grandma Has An Inspiring Story

Gangavaa Milukari, an elderly woman from telangana has an inspiring story whose life got changed with the help of Internet and social media.

Gangavva Milkuri used to work on the farm and lived a life like any other farmworker, but social media has turned her into a celebrity. She is now the star of the "MyVillage Show" YouTube channel. The YouTube channel depicts rural life through satire and rustic humour.

She worked as a coolie, rolled beedis, and even worked on her in-laws' farmland until 2016 to support her family. Each day was monotonous for this grandmother of eight, as living in Lambadipally village, Telangana, and the place did not offer much to her. However, one day, two tech-savvy young men, including her son-in-law Srikanth Sriram and his buddy Anil Geela, came up with the idea of filming rural life, and Gangavva's life took off.

Before the youtube show, Gangavva was dealing with an alcoholic husband, as well as looking after her son and 2 daughters. She was also taking care of the family's farmland. Her life, however, was altered by the Internet and social media. After her husband died, she had the chance to explore her secret gift and become famous. In a media interview, when asked about the change in her life she said, "If we believe in our strengths, anything can happen. We must strongly want it to happen. I believed in the possibility that I could act."

MyVillage Show Youtube Channel

Gangavva's son-in-law Srikanth Sriram introduced Gangavva to YouTube and encouraged her to create comedic sketches about village life and rural family life.

About the channel, Gangavva said she had no idea what YouTube was before Sriram started the show. "Sriram filmed plants, shrubs and trees in the village, but I thought the boy was wasting his time? I had never imagined the video would one day change my life”, she told an interviewer.

Today, Gangavva is a star of a famous Youtube channel. Her honesty and raw acting talent made the channel successful. Her acting also aided in securing her telugu language films.

Not only that. The village Lambadipally, which was just an ordinary village once, is today a celebrity village because of Gangavva.
