Motherhood doesn’t put an end to life and Alia Bhatt’s trajectory serves as enough proof of it. Time and again, she emerged as a clear winner. No amount of scrutiny, shaming or obstacles could stop her from achieving what she desired. Alia Bhatt is a flagbearer for more than one reason and this Mother’s Day with the Good Mother Project, we celebrate her for being indomitable, unapologetic and invincible.
Actor-producer-entrepreneur Alia Bhatt boasts a reported net worth of a whopping ₹299 crores (report by The Economic Times) and has a slew of hits to her name. Bhatt is currently at the top of her game, enjoying an extraordinary career with triumph in every single sphere. Almost a decade earlier, little did we know that this star kid was here to make it big. She came, she saw, and she conquered. This is the rise and rise of Alia Bhatt.
Now a mom, Bhatt continues to redefine way too many things for us at a time. She is one among the few from showbiz who have managed to defy stereotypes and become a trendsetter.
Always Taking The Unconventional Route
She is a bonafide superstar today. When Alia made her debut with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year at the age of 19, she was applauded for her screen presence. Many even labelled her a work in progress and wondered if she will ever be able to shake off the 'cute', 'good looking' actor shackle. Bhatt was constantly at it, no wonder she took up a role like Veera with Imtiaz Ali's Highway and proved her acting prowess. It was just the beginning. Bhatt didn't shy away from experimenting, she took up roles none expected her to and soon the world knew that versatility was her strength. Alia's performance in movies like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Raazi, Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi was only proof that she was a chameleon-like actor.
Interestingly, despite a gilded career in Bollywood, Bhatt went for a Telugu debut. In SS Rajamouli's RRR, Bhatt played Sita, an extended yet prominent role, which again left many wondering why she took up a role like that after carrying many hit films on her shoulders. In an interview, she expressed how she badly wanted to work with SS Rajamouli and was up for any part and any timeline just to make it happen. Well, she got the ball rolling.
Not just on the professional front, but on the personal front too, Bhatt had things going smoothly. At the peak of her career, she decided to tie the knot with the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor. At the age of 29 years, she announced her pregnancy on social media, leaving everyone wondering if she was on the right route. However, her next moves served a befitting reply to the world.

Juggling Many Roles In Life
Currently, the 30-year-old is juggling multiple roles and nailing all of them beautifully. Other than the multiple roles she plays on the personal front, that of a mother, daughter, sister and wife, Bhatt is more than an actor today. Alia Bhatt has also stepped into the shoes of a producer and entrepreneur.
It was in the year 2021 that Alia Bhatt donned the producer's hat. She launched her own production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions. While announcing the production house on her social media, Bhatt wrote that with this new venture, she aims to present happy, warm, fuzzy, timeless and true tales to the audience. Alia Bhatt's Netflix hit, Darlings starring Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah and Roshan Mathew was produced under the Eternal Sunshine Productions banner.
Next, Alia Bhatt introduced her clothing brand, Ed-a-Mamma. Launched during the pandemic, Ed-a-Mamma became one of India's leading kidswear clothing brands in just a few months. Seeing the quick growth in India, the brand quickly expanded into the UAE. Today, the brand reportedly stands at a valuation of ₹150 Crores (report by The Economic Times).

Unstoppable Alia Bhatt
Yes, motherhood does bring a certain amount of load but it doesn't put an end to one’s career and Bhatt's trajectory says it all. Motherhood was never a hurdle. Instead of choosing, she took up everything at once and used her art of balancing. Bhatt flew to London to shoot for her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone during her pregnancy. Post her shoot, she flew back home and began promoting her upcoming releases, Darlings, a dark comedy produced under her banner, and Brahmastra, the first installment of the planned trilogy by Ayan Mukherjee.
Post delivering her munchkin Raha Kapoor, Bhatt continued to be unstoppable. Motherhood wasn't the end of her career but a new beginning. While the notion of motherhood being the end of an actor's journey in Bollywood was already fading, Bhatt's actions further brought it to an end. Soon after delivery, Bhatt resumed work. She flew to Kashmir with her daughter Raha Kapoor to complete her shoot for her upcoming, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani helmed by Karan Johar.
Alia Bhatt will soon be making her debut at the Met Gala, one of the most awaited fashion events of the year. The diva will reportedly be walking the red carpet in a Prabal Gurung outfit in New York on May 1. Next, Bhatt has Jee Le Zaraa in the pipeline. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, this will be a female-led movie starring Katrina Kaif, and Priyanka Chopra. While the film was announced in 2022, there is still no update on its release.
