No matter how controversial Kangana Ranaut's statements are and the debates that go on, not to forget to mention the war of words we see on social media, the actress does have the ability to carry a film on her shoulders alone and her ensembles are always on point. Her looks from any event are much noticed. This time, with the wedding season on, Kangana's ethnic looks including the "Dhakad" sarees, lehengas and suits make for the perfect inspiration for any wedding guest who wants to look perfect! So here are top 5 looks from her ethnic wardrobe which are on point from her makeup, jewellery to the outfit.
Purple & Blue Lehenga
This lehenga look was a much talked about piece and why not! It was not just flaunted perfectly by the actress but the custom made lehenga by Anuradha Vakil is simply perfect. To add to that, ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's eye for details in the jewellery pieces worn by her is unmissable. The lehenga's colour combination to the transitioning zari work, it is gorgeous to the hilt. Her red rose hair accents the look and in a way binds it all together, an inspiration for all the women out there who are to attend a wedding this season.
Here Kangana is wearing a big choker, a lifesize maang tika in emerald and meenakari work in contrast hues and neck length jhumkas. If you like to go a little light on the jewellery front then you can go for a choker and maang tika or maang tika and the jhumkas or just the jhumkas and something simpler on the neck. If you plan on keeping it simple and letting the ensemble talk then just a few bangles or a kada and a jhumkas would suffice. It all depends on who are you at the wedding. If you are the bride's sister or groom's sister then you can be a bit jazzier but don't try to overshadow the groom or the bride himself/ herself. That is just unfair, right?
Cream & Golden Zari Saree
This is what Kangana wore at her brother's wedding reception. She was dressed in a Sabyasachi Saree paired with a lovely handwoven woollen Kullu shawl by Bhutti Co. The simple blouse cut with delicate zardosi work and saree with the same work all over and the border is super elegant. Since her pallu has all the work, she has draped it on her right arm and to battle the cold, the hand-woven shawl in bright red with a matching traditional Kullu cap is a perfect colour balance.
The ensemble was gifted to her by her parents as mentioned on her Instagram handle. For the jewellery, she has worn a golden base kundan choker with big studs and kept her makeup simple. A peach pout with similar hued blush and a simple black bindi is a perfect look for the outfit to stand out. Her eyes have semi smokey eye finish with a lot of kohl work. Hair is tied in a bun and she has let her curls accentuate and frame her face. A perfect classy look indeed!
The Black Wonder
I am personally, truly in love with this suit that has been designed by Sabyasachi ofcourse! The detailed work is his forte and the pastel colour combination, the subtle colour play so that your eyes don't hurt is his signature and it shines here. Kangana has smartly repeated her jewellery here but shed the choker, letting her dupatta do the talking. Kangana wore this when her family visited their Kuldevi Maa Ambika temple in Jagat village Udaipur as shared on her Instagram handle.
The makeup is subtle so that she does not look like a Christmas tree and that churidar that has been paired with the suit is definitely for those who have the right attitude to carry off contrasts. Her hair is again a bun but you can leave it open as well if you want, as long as you are comfortable. The footwear is a jutti here but you pair it with pencil heels or wedges depending upon the comfort level again.
This is a gorgeous outfit I would recommend more for a bride but if you are the guest then you can keep the blouse simple or go easy on the jewellery and makeup. It was worn by Kangana when she walked for designer Anushree Reddy at the Lakme Fashion Week. It is a peach zardozi embroidered lehenga. What stands out the is lovely contrasting statement emerald necklace. Her hair has been straightened here but you can keep it as you wish. Pick from these hairstyles perhaps.
The six-yard wonder is like a magical cloth which looks lovely on any body type. It can be worn in many ways and accessorised in several. If you are looking for ways to wear a yellow saree then this look flaunted by Kangana is perfect be it for a mehendi amid lunchtime or a day time wedding. Wear a pearl and golden choker and elegant jhumkas and you are set.
You could also go for a rani haar in the same finish. For makeup, the rd lip can never fail but if your personality is not the red sort then perhaps nude lips would be perfect. Groom your eyebrows and go for a subtle classy eye makeup look and tada!
