Summer is here and all our bright and white clothes are out. If you own a white kurta and a palazzo or salwar then it is time to flaunt it at intimate gatherings with family and friends. In case you do not, it's time to invest in a pair and style it in different ways. Here are some celeb looks to draw inspiration from.
A Bright Pout
To balance the all-white look, you always need a deal-breaker and here we take inspiration from Alia Bhatt's red pout with a subtle makeup otherwise. To accessorize, she has simply worn jhumkas. You can wear silver bangles or a pearl bracelet which goes with the jhumkas as well to complete the look. For footwear, opt for juttis in the same white hue or if you can dare to the a red number may look good but it all depends on how you carry it off.
If you own a set which has a lot of embroidery work and net then the best way to flaunt it is to go truly simple like Katrina here who has just worked on her hairstyle. Opt for a nude makeup look with pink or brown undertones depending upon your skin tone and let your outfit do the talking. Wear white heels or juttis or even a brown Kolhapuri would like nice.
This one is my favourite as I love wearing different handloom dupattas. In India, our rich cultural heritage gives us the opportunity to experiment with a variety of designs and weaves or even prints. On the left is a hand-painted Kalamkari dupatta, you can also get a fake one if budget is an issue. Get a colourful one, a monochrome or a Kalamkari with a theme, there is so much out there in the market. On the right is a Paithani dupatta which is indeed expensive but you do get prints which are way cheaper. These look classy.
A dupatta can be accessorized and worn in different ways and you can also wear a colour according to the event or occasion. To complete the look, if your dupatta is plain then go for a statement neckpiece and in case it is a busy, full of work drape then how about a hasli and statement jhumkas?! Since it is summer, plan your hairstyle accordingly. Keep your makeup subtle so that your outfit does the talking. Let your dupatta dominate and scream your style and personality without you saying it out loud.
Online and in stores, there are many kinds of bangles and kadas in different colours and styles that the simplest of outfits can be boosted with them. If you want to keep your outfit simple white but need colour in a subtle sense then go for colourful bangles. There are thread work bangles, glass bangles, bangles in metals, matt bangles, Kundan bangles, and more.
Navratna Silver Jewellery
A low cut white kurta, a crisp white palazzo, a net white dupatta, can look uber chic with a simple touch of classic, traditional jewellery like a navratna choker (Here's why Navratna jewellery is good for you). Wear a navratna ring or kada and for footwear, wear any of the colours out of 9 gem colours and voila! You will stand out like none other! Do make a hairstyle where your jewellery is visible. You could also go for a long drop neckpiece in navartna depending upon your neckline.
