The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), an Indian Railways online ticket booking platform, announced on Thursday that its mobile app and website are down due to maintenance activities. People across the country are currently facing inconveniences in booking, cancelling, or rescheduling their tickets. According to Downtracker, an outage tracking website, 2,500 reports of sites being down have been reported as of now. Confirming the outage, IRCTC said the website was showing a message that said, “Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available. Please try later.”
This is the second instance the IRCTC platform has faced such an outage, causing inconvenience among regular users.

Visit your nearest railway reservation counter and fill out the reservation form to book your tickets in person.
Use Third-Party Apps And Websites
Utilise trusted third-party apps and websites to book train tickets. These include Paytm, MakeMyTrip, Confirm Tkt, and RedBus. These platforms are often linked with the IRCTC system and allow you to book tickets.
Call 139 (Indian Railway Enquiry)
Call 139, the Indian Railways Enquiry and inquire about train availability and book tickets via their IVR or agent assistance.
Visit Post Office
Some post offices in India offer train ticket booking facilities. Visit the post office nearest to your home and avail yourself of this service.
Tatkal And Emergency Quotas
If you have to travel on an urgent basis, try booking tickets under the Tatkal scheme or check for emergency quotas at the station.
Tip: Make sure you bring proof of valid ID for ticket booking.
