Taking a bath becomes more relaxing and rejuvenating when some good body washes, shampoos, conditioners, bath bombs etc come into play. There are many options in the market but it is imperative to keep in mind that these products are organic and free of chemicals. When we do so, some are a little heavy on the pocket. Not just that, some of us even like making them on our own. One major advantage of a DIY product is that you can tweak the ingredients as per your liking and we know exactly what the content of our skincare or bath essential is. Exploring some self made body washes with essential oils, here are some recipes with a few tips that will be fun to make, along with the shelf life mentioned. So scroll down and de-stress with these DIYs.

Before delving into the recipes, there is a small guideline when it comes to the usage of essential oils. There are so many out there that we get confused as to which one should be used and how. The basic recommendation here is that if you want to make an uplifting body wash, use oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, lime, grapefruit or orange. Basically anything with a citrus tone. If you want something relaxing and calming for a wash after a hard day, reach out for geranium, chamomile, lavender, neroli and even jasmine is good.

To make the wash creamier, induce vegetable glycerin as that gives it a thickness, a better lather and a creamier consistency.
