Mr. Rayed Merchant, Director Marketing (Global) & Head Brand Procurement, SSIZ International says, “A keratin treatment is an excellent choice for people with curly hair who prefer a more relaxed and shining look. Let's break it down: your curl pattern is determined by your DNA. The quantity of disulfide bonds that dwell within your hair proteins is determined by genetics. When two sulphides (sulphur atoms) collide, disulfide bonds form, resulting in a spiral in your hair. Curly hair has a lot of these disulfide connections, which is why it has so many bouncy, sometimes irritating curls.

To disrupt the curl pattern and achieve straight hair, dissolving disulfide bonds must be used. Keratin treatments are a prime example for this.

Following that, the neutralising stage restores the pH balance of the hair, making it less delicate after being subjected to controlled damage. Finally, the hair is conditioned to give your newly non-curly hair the attention it deserves. Who would have thought that hair could be so scientific?
