Ingredients
To make besan chilla you need one cup of besan(gram flour), 1-2 cups of water, ¼ of turmeric, ¼ of chilli powder, chopped onion and tomatoes and salt to taste.

Preparation
In a bowl, combine besan, salt, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder. Gradually add water and mix it well to avoid lumps. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.

Heat the tawa
Heat the non-sticky tawa on medium flame. Now, put 2-3 tsp oil to grease it, and spread the batter on the tawa.

Chilla making
Now, spread the batter in a circular motion on hot tawa and make an even thin layer. Add chopped onions and tomatoes to besan chilla.

Cook and serve
Cook the chilla on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes until it becomes golden brown. Now, remove the besan chilla from the tawa and serve hot with green chutney or yoghurt.
