    Rice is staple in most of the parts of India and here are five different ways in which different states consume rice.

Coconut Rice

    Coconut Rice is a light, tasty and savory dish consumed mainly by Southern India which is known as Thengai Sadam in Tamil.It is made with grated coconut, lentils, herbs, and spices.

Tamarind or Puliyogare Rice

    Popularly known as Puliyogare Rice in Tamil Nadu, the Tamarind Rice is a Karnataka style rice that can be made with soaked tamarind and jaggery.

Mint Rice

    Mint Rice or Pudina Rice is a fragnant, spicy and tasty one-pot dish which is made with fresh mint leaves, basmati rice, onion, tomato, spices, and herbs.

Soyabean Rice

    Soyabean Rice or Soya chunks pulao is made using soya chunks, onion, peas, tomato, hung curd or dahi and bay leaves.

Saffron Rice

    Saffron Rice is white rice sauted in butter and then shimmered with saffron infused water along with onion and vegetables if you wish.
